site. One of my dear colleagues, Dr. Betty Overton-Adkins posted the opportunity that was in Portland, OR – 2,300 miles away from where I lived in Texas. I called and applied for the position. After a nationwide search, I was selected for the position. Dr. Overton-Adkins even provided a reference for me.
There is a wonderfully expansive and invaluable resource in our network as Fellows. The bond is strong and the opportunities are available – not just for open positions, but for professional development, coaching, mentoring, consulting and resourcing. I have found that now that I have the position as Chief Academic Officer, there are many in the network who I can call on who are in similar positions. I will continue to use the network to post positions and even to submit RFPs for consulting opportunities at my college. In fact, we are in need of a consultant now and I will post the opportunity on the network first.
